Welcome to Building Blocks ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of our primary website www.buildingblocks.ie, as well as all Building Blocks branded storefronts, channels, and content hosted on third-party platforms. This includes, but is not limited to, our courses on Teachable, our digital storefronts on TeachersPayTeachers (TpT) and Tes, our assessments on YouEngage, our video content on YouTube, and any other platform, website, marketplace or social media platform where our resources are distributed.

1. Binding Agreement

By visiting our website, viewing our videos, utilizing our free content, purchasing our online courses, downloading our digital materials, or completing any of our assessments—regardless of whether you access them directly on our website or through Teachable, TeachersPayTeachers, Tes, YouEngage, YouTube, or other platforms—you are automatically and legally agreeing to be bound by these Terms of Use in their entirety. This agreement applies to all visitors, users, parents, educators, and buyers ("User," "Client," "Parent," "Educator," or "Practitioner"). If you do not agree to every part of these terms, you do not have permission to access our resources, take our assessments, or purchase our products on any platform, and you must discontinue use immediately.

2. Supplementary Educational Framework & Support Only (Not Professional Advice)

2.1 Focus on Supplementary Caregiver and Educator Support

All our materials, advice, programs, eBooks, self-assessments, resources, video content, and neurodiversity-affirming frameworks provided by Building Blocks across all platforms are developed strictly as supplementary educational resources and strategy toolkits. Our mission is to empower, educate, and support parents, caregivers, educators, and practitioners with general developmental strategies and communication perspectives (such as Gestalt Language Processing insights). These materials and assessments are intended solely to serve as an additional, auxiliary layer of support.

2.2 No Clinical or Professional Relationship

While our content and assessments are created using professional expertise in language development and neurodiversity-affirming practices, the use, purchase, completion, or downloading of any supplementary product, resource, assessment, or video across any of our platforms does not create a professional-client, clinical, or speech and language therapist-patient relationship.

2.3 Comprehensive Supplementary Disclaimer

  • No Medical or Clinical Advice: The information, scoring, suggestions, and strategies provided across our products, YouEngage assessments, and channels are meant for general, supplementary educational support only. They are not clinical advice, medical advice, or individualized speech therapy.

  • Strictly a Companion to Local Care: Our materials and screening tools are intended to act exclusively as a supplementary educational companion to your parenting, teaching, or therapeutic journey. They are not a substitute for, nor should they ever replace, an individualized, 1-on-1 clinical evaluation, diagnosis, or targeted intervention from a qualified local professional, Speech and Language Therapist (SLT), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).

  • When to Seek Professional Help: Every child develops uniquely. Because our resources and assessments are purely supplementary, you should never disregard professional clinical advice or delay seeking an individualized evaluation for your child because of any strategy, video, score, or information you have encountered in our courses, assessments, resources, or online channels.

3. Professional Discretion, Clinical Judgment, and Supplementary Use

3.1 Supplementary Tools for Professionals

We welcome speech and language therapists, speech-language pathologists, educators, and other allied health professionals to utilize our resources, digital tools, and YouEngage assessments to inform their practices.

3.2 Professional Autonomy & Overriding Principles

If you are a qualified professional utilizing our resources or assessments:

  • You acknowledge that these materials are purely supplementary tools and should never override, replace, or supersede your own professional expertise, independent clinical reasoning, or ethical obligations.

  • You are permitted to use our supplementary resources and screening tools strictly at your own professional discretion. You must evaluate whether a specific strategy, assessment, or resource is safe, appropriate, and clinically indicated for the unique needs of the specific child, student, or client under your care.

3.3 Complete Disclaimer of Responsibility for Outcomes & Communication Risks

  • Building Blocks acts solely as a provider of supplementary educational frameworks and self-guided tools. We assume no responsibility or liability whatsoever for how a professional, educator, or practitioner chooses to interpret, apply, score, modify, or implement our supplementary resources or assessments. By using our materials in a professional capacity, you acknowledge that you maintain sole clinical and educational responsibility for your clients/students, and you agree that Building Blocks cannot be held liable for any professional decisions made, or any outcomes resulting from the use of our resources.

  • Sensitive Information Warning: When seeking generic supplementary advice, filling out external contact forms, or inquiring about our services via email, Users are strictly requested not to submit highly sensitive, private, or identifiable clinical/medical information regarding any child or adult. If you choose to voluntarily transmit detailed personal data or case history outside of our structured data forms, you do so entirely at your own risk. Building Blocks will not be held responsible or liable for any unauthorized interception, data loss, or leak of information voluntarily shared by you through casual advice channels.

4. Platform Accounts and Product Access

4.1 Third-Party Platform Terms

When you purchase or access our resources through third-party platforms (such as Teachable, TeachersPayTeachers, Tes, YouEngage, or YouTube), you are also subject to the respective platform’s terms of service and privacy policies. Building Blocks is not responsible for third-party platform downtime, account technical issues, or the individual data practices of these external sites.

4.2 Eligibility & Account Responsibility

To purchase any resource, assessment, or course, you must meet the age requirements of the platform being used (typically 18 years of age to make purchases). You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your respective login or access credentials.

5. Intellectual Property & Usage Rights

5.1 Ownership of Materials

All materials provided within our courses, digital shops, video channels, and assessments—including but not limited to videos, audio tracks, PDFs, assessment software, templates, questionnaire structures, graphics, and text—are the exclusive intellectual property of Building Blocks, unless stated otherwise.

5.2 Permitted Use of Supplementary Resources

When you purchase, access, or download a resource or assessment from our website, Teachable, TeachersPayTeachers, Tes, or YouEngage, you are granted a limited license based on the target audience:

  • For Parents/Caregivers: You may print and use the materials or complete the digital assessments for your own personal, non-commercial use as a supplementary aid with your child or within your immediate household.

  • For Educators/Therapists/Practitioners: You may use the printed resources, digital strategies, or individual assessment links as supplementary aids within your own individual classroom or active clinical caseload.

5.3 Strict Prohibitions

Across all platforms, you explicitly agree NOT to:

  • Share your Teachable, TpT, or Tes download links, or replicate the proprietary questioning logic of our YouEngage assessments with other individuals, clinics, or schools.

  • Download, rip, re-upload, or redistribute our YouTube videos or course video content to other websites or public drives.

  • Resell, copy, redistribute, republish, copy-paste, or sub-license any of our course materials, assessment formats, or downloadable resources.

  • Use our content or assessment structures to create a competing educational program, screening tool, website, or commercial service.

6. Payment, Fees, and Refund Policy

6.1 Pricing and Marketplace Fees

Prices are set in Euros (€) on our direct platforms, but may be converted into other currencies (such as USD or GBP) on international marketplaces like TeachersPayTeachers and Tes.

6.2 Digital Goods Refund Policy

Due to the instant, digital nature of downloadable files (e.g., PDFs, eBooks), immediate online course access, and instant digital delivery of assessment results via YouEngage:

  • Direct Purchases (Website, YouEngage, & Teachable): All sales are generally final. In alignment with EU Consumer Protection regulations, by downloading, accessing, or launching the digital content/assessments immediately, you acknowledge that you waive your standard 14-day right of withdrawal. If you experience unexpected technical errors or delivery failures, please contact us at hello@buildingblocks.ie.

  • Marketplace Purchases (TpT and Tes): Refunds for resources bought on these platforms are strictly governed by the refund policies of TeachersPayTeachers or Tes. We cannot directly process marketplace refunds outside of their ecosystem rules.

7. Limitation of Liability and Guarantees

7.1 No Guaranteed Outcomes

Because communication, developmental, and social-emotional journeys are entirely unique to the individual child, Building Blocks makes no guarantees regarding specific developmental outcomes, screening scores, milestones, or timelines. The success of these supplementary educational resources and screening feedback relies heavily on individual application, context, and the child's unique developmental profile.

7.2 Limitation of Liability & Data Security Limitations

  • To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, Building Blocks, its founders, and its employees shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of, or reliance upon, our educational courses, marketplace resources, assessments, screening results, or video content.

  • Platform Security Limitations: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Building Blocks shall not be held liable for any data breaches, cyber-attacks, system failures, security intrusions, or leaks of personal data affecting adult or child users where such data is processed, collected, or hosted by our third-party infrastructure providers (including but not limited to Teachable, TeachersPayTeachers, Tes, YouEngage, Stripe, or Google). While we rely exclusively on reputable global hosting and questionnaire solutions, you acknowledge that no online data storage system or internet transmission is entirely secure, and you utilize these platform-hosted services and tools at your own discretion.

8. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our platform, assessments, and resources shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

9. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time to reflect updates to our services, new platform store launches, changing data assessment setups, or legal requirements. Your continued use of our website, assessments, video channels, or commercial resources following any changes signifies your automatic acceptance of the updated terms.
